CrobialCoat™ Antimicrobial combines the durable protection of ProtectaClear® with Microban® Antimicrobial technology.

CrobialCoat is a durable, clear protective coating that provides long lasting protection for most surfaces from rust, salt damage, tarnish, corrosion and oxidation. Microban® antimicrobial technology is built into CrobialCoat for an added level of protection against the growth of microbes. Ideal for high touch surfaces where cleanliness matters.

CrobialCoat will actively reduce the growth of bacteria 24/7 and for the expected lifetime of the coating.

  • Persistence of bacteria on inanimate surfaces is a serious concern.
  • CrobialCoat penetrates bacteria and inhibits their ability to reproduce, make food or eliminate waste.
  • Coated surface remains cleaner and is protected against the proliferation of degrading bacteria.
  • Invisible protection, Visible cleanliness.
  • Surfaces stay cleaner between cleanings and are easier to clean.
  • Works Continuously. Actively reduces the growth of bacteria 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
  • Microban® Technology has been proven effective against a broad spectrum of bacteria.

Kitchen & Bathroom

Metal counters, sinks, faucets, backsplashes, hoods and hardware can easily be maintained to prevent fingerprints,  smudges, tarnish and water spots. Copper in a kitchen is gorgeous but can be frustrating to keep up with. Stainless steel smudges and attracts fingerprints and spots so easily.  Polishing constantly is frustrating.

ProtectaClear® is a clear, hard protective coating that is easy to apply but tough enough to protect sinks, countertops, back-splashes and hoods from tarnish, fingerprints, smudges and water spots.  CrobialCoat is ProtectaClear with Microban® antimicrobial technology added.  It has all the properties of ProtectaClear but also helps to prevent the growth of microbes to keep surfaces 99% cleaner 24/7.  The antimicrobial protection does not wash off.  Both ProtectaClear and CrobialCoat are food-safe once cured.

  1. Wash the sink with a few drops of dish soap to make sure it is clean.

  2. Rinse with plain water and dry to avoid waterspots.

  3. Wipe with a clean solvent like denatured alcohol.

  4. Apply 2 to 4 coats of CrobialCoat with at least an hour between coats. Make sure the first coat is completely dry before applying the next coat.  Do not apply pressure while applying the coating. Just glide it on with no pressure.

  5. CrobialCoat will blend to itself.  When applying subsequent coats, glide the coating on quickly and do not wipe hard or keep messing with it.  This can disturb the first coat.

  6. The coating is delicate until it is completely cured.  It is a good idea to dry out the sink after use with a soft cloth and do not allow water to sit on the sink until it is completely cured

  1. Polish the sink with copper polish to the desired sheen.

  2. If you use a polish that contains acid,  you will need to neutralize the metal. The solvents in the coating will react with the acid and darken the metal.  You can use baking soda to neutralize the acid.

  3. If a non-acid polish is used, there is NO need to neutralize.  Wash off the residue with a couple of drops of dish soap and water.

  4. Rinse with plain water and dry with a soft cloth.

  5. Wipe with a clean solvent like denatured alcohol.

  6. Apply 2 to 4 coats of CrobialCoat with at least an hour between coats. Make sure the first coat is completely dry before applying the next coat.  Do not apply pressure while applying the coating. Just glide it on with no pressure.

  7. CrobialCoat will blend to itself.  When applying subsequent coats, glide the coating on quickly and do not wipe hard or keep messing with it.  This can disturb the first coat.

  8. The coating is delicate until it is completely cured.  It is a good idea to dry out the sink after use with a soft cloth and do not allow water to sit on the sink until it is completely cured.

  1. For heavy tarnish or to remove old patina, use HD Copper Cleaning Gel.  The gel will stick to the sides of a sink to allow it to work, even on vertical surfaces.  The Gel will also get into intricate designs to clean the tarnish.  See the video to see how it works.

  2. Allow the gel to work.  Scrub in a small area with the gray Prep Pad (included with the kit) to see if the tarnish is coming up.  If not, allow more time for the gel to work.

  3. Once the tarnish has “melted”,  remove the excess with paper towels or wash down the sink.  The gel is made from natural ingredients that will not harm pipes or the environment.

  4. Make sure most of the heavy oxidation is removed.  If not, apply more gel and allow it to continue to work.

  5. Polish the sink with a non-acid polish to the desired sheen.

  6. You can use baking soda to neutralize any acid.

  7. Rinse well with plain water and dry with a soft cloth.

  8. Wipe with a clean solvent like denatured alcohol.

  9. Apply 2 to 4 coats of CrobialCoat with at least an hour between coats. Make sure the first coat is completely dry before applying the next coat.  Do not apply pressure while applying the coating. Just glide it on with no pressure.

  10. CrobialCoat will blend to itself.  When applying subsequent coats, glide the coating on quickly and do not wipe hard or keep messing with it.  This can disturb the first coat.

  11. The coating is delicate until it is completely cured.  It is a good idea to dry out the sink after use with a soft cloth and do not allow water to sit on the sink until it is completely cured.a

  • Use a hairdryer to ensure the sink is really dry before coating. Water can accumulate by the drain or by the faucets.

  • If the Copper Cleaning Gel starts to dry, agitate with some water.  You can use the Prep Pad or a brush.

  • Use a hairdryer to help the coating cure faster.  CrobialCoat will harden as it cures. Under normal circumstances, with normal temperature and humidity, the coating will be cured in 4 to 5 days.  Deep sinks can take a little longer.  The cure time can be sped up with the use of heaters or fans.   Until the coating is completely cured, it is best to wipe up any sitting water with a soft cloth.

  • You can also coat your faucets to protect them from bacteria buildup.  Keep them 99% cleaner as well

  • Keep any left-over coating for future use or for sink maintenance.  Wipe the threads before closing so the lid is easier to remove later.
